New Boat Arrives In Ipswich

Hi Kim

You must be looking forward to launch.

I think that I sent you a list of snags that we found on our new Bav and here is another one for your list that I recommend you have Peters deal with before launch.

We lifted out shortly after our 1 year warranty had ended to find that the saildrive gaiter was missing and the weed growth would suggest that it had been missing for a long time.

Peters' have agreed to replace it under warranty but we have to pay for the lift out. (Lets just say that we are in dispute about that at the moment)

Their initial reaction was that it could wait till out next scheduled liftout (next winter) but having spoken to Volvo they dispute this and say that it must be replaced ASAP.

I have heard of a lot of new generation Bav's which suffer the same fate and am told that it is because Bav use their own Gaiter, not the Volvo supplied one, and use a sub-standard glue.

If I was you I would get Peters to do something now.

Cheers

Wayne

mmmm, wonder if this post is going to get pulled, after all, it does mention an advertiser in YM.

Really pleased for you, I do hope you enjoy the commissioning process (joke!). Just keep a straight face, get it onto the water and enjoy.

I will look out for you.

Good luck for tomorrow, and the first cruise. Hope all goes well.

Give us a count when you return of the number of times someone says "It feels so big" (and by that I am referring to the boat of course)

I am heading across to Cherbourg tomorrow night and so will have many hours of idle brain and will think of you guys. I just hope the wind holds cos the forecast is going lighter all the time.

Cheers

Wayne
