G'day
I'm a regular reader of Motorboat & Yachting but new user in this Forum.
I'm looking at the new Beneteau Antares 8.80 2 x 150 outboard (model 2010)and wonder if there would be a user in this Forum who might have tried out this boat or have some info I could use in my final evaluation. I have been through Beneteau's home page and on searched on Google but have not been able to track any video of the test etc.
I know it was displayed by Beneteau in Cannes open back in April.

Thanks very much in advance

Hi,
I also enquirede about one of these,I was speaking to a chap at Dickies International in their Pwllheli office a few days ago, he told me that they have one arriving with them quite soon, they seemed pretty clued up and had all the info I needed, I think his name was Mike and his number is 01758 701828, good luck!
Michael.

hi his name is mike caplan a joy to do buissness with bought our series 9 from him 2008 kept us well informed through out buying process and after sales even after 4 years he is still helpfull with our niggles.:):):):)

i had a new antares 7 from dickies bought 5 years ago and excelent after sales service with them, faultless infact.
the boat has an inboard deisel engine and realtively economical regarding fuel consumption, but the thought of petrol outboards for an 880 size boat scares me. however outboards rather than inboards seems to be the way now with beneteau and jeanneau in that range, i guess cheaper to make.

i am moving back to sail for 3 main reasons 1st is i want to sail, 2, is i think you get more of a boat for your bucks with a sail boat and 3 is fuel costs.

I notice that next months MBM mag has a boat test featuring the Antares 8.80. Can you wait a month? summer might be over ;)

I know it is different, but I have an Antares 8... It is awesome!

Re: Beneteau Antares 8.80

We've just tested it in the June issue of MBM along with the newer Barracuda 9. Issue out on the 17th May

You might find a bargain with one of the Olympic boats. The info says big discounts and full warranty. I think Dickies Swansea have the 8.8.
