Hey folks,

Starting battery has completely failed with one cell off line.

It is only used for starting so was after some suggestions

Firstly capacity, the one coming out (original from new I presume) is 100AH, however I have been recommended 110AH

As it is not used for domestic, I do not need deep cycle, however I do want heavy duty and ideally marine for the extra robust design, however I cannot seem to find a start only marine battery. Cheapest marine 110AH I have seen is nearly £100 inc carriage.

Any suggestions or shoule I just cough up! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hmm, I think my batteries are 90Ah on my KAD32, I only ever use one battery to start her up, never had problems. Then again, engine does be run every 3-4 days so battery never gets a chance to run down

Thanks,

Mine may go a month or so in the winter, and certainly a couple of weeks in summer

I have a charger and hook up but do not like to keep them on charger all the time.

I start mine fine with an 85ah battery. Its the same battery (make, not actual battery) that I have used in both a diesel and V8 petrol Range Rovers. Always fires up fine.

You don't need a marine battery for engine starting if it's not being used for any domestics. A big car battery used for starting 4x4 diesels or any V8 petrol will be fine. Check out Halfords prices
