Cant wait any longer.
I feel very lucky to have become the new owner of katarina B
We have agreed a deal and she is being collected from the Solent and delivered to the yard at Rochford on the 30th September, where we will work on her over the winter. She will be kept on the Crouch.
katarina B is an Itchen ferry, based on the hull design of the original boats used for ferrying cargo and people accross the river Itchen in the 19th century and later. She's a long keel, 25' in GRP with pretty lines and drawing only 3' will be perfect for the East coast.
Quite a jobs list but nothing we can't manage.
I'll post more when she gets here but thanks to Jim FC for his help and advice and to Andy and Angie of Flapjack for giving me the opportunity to get her back to her best. I can only blame Pyrojames for the long keel fixation and thank Bernie for keeping it plastic...
Here's a pic courtesy of Flapjack (hope you don't mind Andy)
Another Itchen Ferry at Sea
