We have got sealine 360 statesman and the genuine 10kg delta anchor was getting very thin and rusty so went up chandeliers and took the old one with me ,they had what looked identical again a genuine lewmar delta 10kg anchor so bought it , i was repairing the winch as the motor had gone so Could t fit Anchor till yesterday, it fits the hole in boat just fine but now when comes up unless im very very very careful and slow it whacks the front of boat taking chips it Fiberglass, the old one never did this even if boat was swinging around , unfortunately I chuckled the old anchor I know stupid but never thought I could have had a problem with like for like anchor , I can’t change the rollers to smaller one as the axel is welded in place , check out the video it makes me wince every time I watch it ?????? any advice will be greatly received

Looks like the shank may be the problem? would grinding a little of it away from the inside edge allow it to come over the roller with less angle?

I have thought about grinding some off the anchor but is it safe. I don’t want to compromise the strength of the anchor ???

Have you thought of slowing down for the last metre or two ? That might allow the top of the shank to start turning over the sheave.

Our S24 used to do something similar.
Slowing down and just doing the last metre in small bursts helped.

Some people fitted an SS plate in the right place.

I can get it. Raised without hitting but have to be very careful like you say small bursts ,but I’ve not tried it when rolling about,, , but I don’t know why it catches now when I went for a direct replacement

You could try a banana swivel

Hi Thanks for the idea but I think the swivel part of it would make the anchor spin when raising it , I need to have the chain in the correct position on the winch in relation to anchor or the anchor comes up at 45deg to hole if you know what I’m talking about

1) Have you changed whatever attaches the anchor to the chain?

2) You say you have replaced the motor in the windlass. Perhaps it is running faster than its predecessor?

Hi 1) I’ve used exactly same fixing for anchor to the chain
2) you might be into something it does appear faster , mabee that’s what it is , There are only 3 parts that have been changed

a) anchor
b) link between chain and anchor
C) motor

I just assumed that it must be the anchor but it could be the faster motor , if i do really pulse the motor and make go up very very slow I can just about make it stop hitting it might be a combination of both the new anchor being bit bigger and the motor being faster
