I have looked through the search results for painting a bronze or brass prop. I realise this is the topic of legendary enquiry but...
I have just had a new prop 2 blade folding vsn and still unsure what treatment to give it as the boat is being launched for the winter after a summer refit.
A few q's remain:
Polishing - using what? Presumably a circular polisher that is used on hulls would be ok?
Does the lanolin extortionate prop shield need to be applied to a hot prop?
Is zinc oxide cream ok to use on a brass/bronze prop, Has anyone used zinc oxide based cream with any success?
I used to primo on and anti foul my last 2 bladed fixed prop but a lot of folk start stating galvanic corrosion. I didn't notice any reduction of the prop but it was old, as this is new it seems etching may be required!
Thanks in advance.
