Not so much a quiz as a question. Being one who normally just goes sailing, stays on the boat, eats, sleeps and sails again, I have not paid much attention to shore side facilities. So where are the best spots for landing two small children for shore side games, that will also give me enough depth to anchor overnight? (8 feet required)

Undoubtedly its Stone Point in the Walton Backwaters.... a great beach... loads of beachcombing opportunities.... seals galore.... take buckets, spades and loads of cold beer!

There are nearly always a few kids ashore, and ours rarely fail to establish communications, and end up playing happily for extended periods without overly taxing adult relaxation!

Too late; the beach at the rocks washed away twenty years ago which is a shame. Nice place still though.

Osea can be nice on a weekday, with clean landing except at low water. You need to be sure your anchor is well in here - and the Rocks too. (I agree that Stone Point is the best all round)
