Well after 43.5hours in labour my wife gave birth to our daughter Phobe Alexandra Palmeri (8lb 4oz) at 9.50pm on the 14th October. Mum and babe are fine. Sleep is what I need as I am just running on adrenalin at the mo. Went to bed Sunday evening to be woken at 1.30 am with labo kicking in little sleep as interupted constantly so as the contractions got down to 3mins we went to hospital only for baby to change her mind and contractions went back to 10min intervals ended back at hospital at 11.30 pm and managed to get about 5 hours slepp and a cricked back on a chair which was sooo uncomfortable.

Oh well we have a boy and a girl now so thats it I am making enquiries about having the snip and then getting a bigger boat.

Poor Dom on that chair :)

Congratulations Dom, glad to hear all well.

I suggest you dont mention to your wife your problem with the uncomfortable chair, you might get thumped. I bet she would have swapped the 43 labour for 43 hours on that chair or in David Blaine's box, given half the chance.... :)

Yes definitely time for a new boat.

Many congratulations Dom, so when are you organising the wetting of the baby's head? I think this should be doen at a forum meet, just think you could get lots of drinks, joanne could see the baby and then get nick to get her another, in fact the swmbos can get broody while we talk about the solly and the vodka bottle... carry on Dom, see you soon

Never say never...

...but many many congrats this time around. You should have said you were after the snip when we were over in the CIs a few months back...extensive tool kits carried on all events and I'm sure we could have found something appropriate!

All the best.

Re: Never say never...

Well, actually my mind set itself on thinking about a rather nice pair of tin snips that I requested for Christmas one year (okay, how sad is that?) -- they have yet to snip anything in anger despite the fact I thought they would be dead handy (as you do). Mind you I'm certainly not volunteering to perform the operation...

Well done!!! I know what it is like!

Lucy was born at the end of April. We had her sailing when she was 7 days old. We adapted a baby car seat and strapped it in the well of our boat.

Things didn't change much on the sailing front except I got a lot of rib poking for the lorry loads of baby things taken to Piccolo each weekend. She is 6 now, loves boating,(thank goodness). The lorry loads hasn't got any better, just BIGGER!!

Last weekend I brought home about 10 dustbin bags crammed full of her toys.

You got 2 of em?? Good luck and happy boating.
