Having spent a day recently with Powerskipper she informs me that there is an "add on" for Volvo EDC controls that give a short beep when the levers go into neutral.

Has anyone had experience of these and if so what do you think of them? Where would I get them fitted and how much is it likely to cost.

The reason for having them fitted is that when reversing I have the habit of standing with my back to the bow operating the levers without looking at them. They are so light that I don't always realise which gear I am in. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thus if I could hear when passing through neutral it may even help my berthing. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hi Peter

I have the "beep" - very handy, especially in the manner you describe, but I have been thinking about seeing if they could be less of a "beep",(!!) it's quite a noise ! Albeit in a short burst.

Having said that, I pefer the beep to no beep !

I have it by default and believe it is standard and controlled by an on-off setting in the EVC Software.

Personally I would have it turned off as it gets a bit much after a while esp. if you are waiting in the Chichester Marina channel!
