With great sadness I am having to sell my Gobbi 345 sc. Another victim of the economic downturn.

I have placed adds on Boatshop24, Apollo Duck, Boats&outboards and ebay with a classified. have I missed any other worthy sites. I have priced her well below any others for sale.

Im on board whilst doing the adds makes it even worse.

Any suggestions wellcome, as always.. Will have to find a cheaper boat when shes gone. Cant be without one. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sorry to hear your tale.

Your ads are informative, enthusiastic and the pics are good.

Being 'picky', however, I would suggest you revise the wording about SSR. The SSR does not, in any way, prove ownership or VAT status. Your wording would put doubts in my mind.

This is offered constructively, and I wish you the very best of luck in finding a quick sale, and in solving any longer term problems.

may be I have the SSR wrong I have a marine mortgage on the boat and I thought the register they put the details on was proof of ownership and vat. If the lender was not happy with title they would not lend. Happy to be told otherwise. If its not a posiative I'll take it of Thanks for feedback

Marine mortgage might require a "Part 1" registration, which is very different to a "Part III" SSR - not the same thing at all.

dv.

It sounds as if your boat is on the Part 1 Register, which does prove ownership! A quick look at your paperwork will confirm whether she's on Part 1 or SSR.

I don't think Part 1 is any evidence of vat status, though (if such evidence is required anyway).

SSR means absolutly nothing, but for some strange reason, keeps the French happy. Now I'm up the Irish sea, I've stopped it. Well, not renewed it anyway. Cost about ten quid last time and I finnished up with a whole host of numbers for free.

The register is a point of detail that is worth getting right, but I hope I haven't disheartened you! As I said, there's lots of good info in your ads.

With the websites you've listed, you should defintely get good visibility.

I'm sure you've also got fuller details (inventory, maintenance history, loads more pics, etc) all ready to email out when you're bombarded with enquiries?

Good luck!

I d re-do the photos.. remove everything..no cleaning bottles, nothing on the cockpit seats, nothing on the swimplatform.. no infill cushions lying about,no boat hooks lying around the helm, nothing anywhere at all.. absolutely virgin.

Sorry you "have" to sell her, she looks great in the ad!
One thing, i would check your spelling of diesel, the photos show her off nicely.
Good luck.

I would run a spell check through your ad (only looked at apolloduck) - not in the retired Nigerian General category of English, but IMO every little helps.........and I would also throw in some paragraphs if the software allows /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As already said, that SSR is just plain wrong - so gotta go. If she is Part 1 registered then definately worth mentioning, even though not absolute proof of ownership - in practice as good as - indeed with a Marine Mortgage registered on her would make a prospective buyer more comfortable that the paperwork was in order and the debt(s) known. Maybe have a word with your finance company and ask what sort of deal would be available to a buyer. and whether you would get an introdution commission /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif....would allow you to add "Finance Possible" and you then just telling a prospective buyer "XYZ Ltd says 50% down over 5 years = £xx a month - here's their telephone number".

Just a thought - I dunno how much you owe on the boat (and I don't want to know), but if say £50k you could always carry the balance yourself on a first or even a second mortgage - obviously not without risk, but if it helps get one monkey off yer back sooner rather than later and allows you to hold a higher price.........

Just read again....I would replace "loads of bills for expenditure" with something like "fully documented maintanence record with invoices / receipts etc". (otherwise sounds a tad "moneypitish".

I would make clearer you have the evidence of VAT paid (I am guessing the original VAT invoice?, if so, say that).

Gary, may not be what want you to hear but perhaps not get much response before the beginning of Spring/Easter at the earliest if weather cheers up a bit then.
Easy to get despondant if early sale required , may need to sit tight and just wait.It will sell eventually but not too many buyers like me who will buy in midwinter.Good luck.

Two thoughts to add. Firstly, a lot of potential buyers wont have heard of Gobbi as a brand, so well done for directing the reader to the Atlantis web site, but it may also be worth mentioning that there is a UK dealer who can provide spares (assuming there is?)

Secondly, and much more importantly, you need to get it on Mondial Broker web site. It's an Italian boat, which will be much more popular in Italy than here, and your price will be a mega-bargain to a Euro buyer. You need to use a broker to get on Mondial, but if you price at 95,000 euro, you could pay the broker and still get your asking price. Also get prices for shipping the boat to Italy, so you have that to hand, or can even offer a delivered price.

There may be other Italian sites, maybe MapisM can advise.
