Hi - I need to replace the mainsheet track and traveller, etc on my Sabre 27. Has any one done this recently - at a sensible cost! The current track is just under 1m. The systems I looked at seem quite expensive. Just wondering if I'm missing a trick or whether I will have to bite the bullet.

Cheers

Replaced ours a couple of years ago, using a secondhand track that came off a Beneteau 35s5. It was too long so I cut it down but actually made it longer than the old track.

As it was so much more powerful than the rather weak old one it has made a big, positive difference. So much easier to use.

Cost about £50 I seem to remember but it's finding the used track that will take the time. I don't think it'll matter what the profile is - just the size or rating.

Once you've got it, it's an easy job to pull it into shape, if yours is in the companionway. If its on the transom , you'll need to get up under it.

Are you a Sabre Owners Assoc member? If so, it'll be in the manual or I can get you pics/copies I expect.

PM me if you need more help?
