Help!

I lost the flared copper washer from inside the hydraulic steering pipe (5/8" fittings) when flushing the old fluid and no one seems to have any of these. The steering head and ram are teleflex but the flexible cables are the previous owners custom made ones...

Copper pipe flare

I am a bit confused here so just on the off chance that you are confused. Most copper pipes have a flare pressed into the end of the pipe. This is achieved with a flaring tool. (not very expensive)
It is a lot easier if the copper pipe as been recently annealed. ie heated to quite hot then cooled quickly. (I hope i have that right or is it cooled slowly) This softens the copper tube.
If you really need a copper washer that is flared maybe you could make one this way. Make sure you get a flaring tool with correct angle. good luck olewill
PS or is it an "olive" that you need. That is a little tubular piece of brass that has a taper each end? Clamped between two flares it squashes to make a seal.

If they are 5/8" fittings you will need to find a refrigeration guy rather than a plumber as plumbing stuff is metric and fridge stuff imperial.
