I am going through the pain of getting my yacht coded for chartering. I have the regulation grab bag to go with the liferaft. I also have had to buy an inflatable radar reflector which is meant to go in the grab bag. The inflatable reflector comes with a fibreglass pole that is in three bits that can be put together to make a 1.5 long pole. The trouble is that the pole segments are too long for the grab bag! I do not wish to get a longer grab bag (and am not sure they exist).
I wondered if there was a four segment pole that would assemble to the same length. I also wondered if there was a way of making a pole with elestic cord down the middle like some collapsable walking sticks and tent poles.
Has anyone a inexpensive solution to creating something to do the trick??
Thanks

I think you've answered your own question - a tent pole. Try Millets or Blacks or, if no luck, one of the more up market places like Tisos or Brigham. The ends could be taped up to fit.

Quite so, and the sections can be purchased separately as repair items so you can make up what lengths you like and shove a bit of bunjy through the centres to link them together, if a proprietary pole isn't easily available on its own
