Hello Folks, I have not been here for a long time.
I have just bought a new boat, well new to me any way, a 58 foot (LOA) staysail schooner, built in 1983 she has an old and broken Ford Dover engine. This is an 80 HP 4 cylinder natrualy aspirated lump. I need a Polar Parts exhaust manifold. Now it seems that Polar are now out of business (Retired?) so a secod hand unit would seem to be in order. Any Ideas?

If no Polar Part then what are the chances of say, a Bowman manifold fitting the exhaust pipe?

Regards Simes

Sounds as if you are talking about the marinising bits of your Ford, not the Ford bits themselves.
I would suggest having a chat to Mike Bellamy of Lancing Marine who has been marinising all types of Fords for many a year.

Indeed I am talking about the marinised bits. The Ford bit is just fine lots of compression and not too much fuel consumption.
I will try Mike Bellamy at Lancing Marine. Many thanks.

Try Lancing Marine, they are in Portslade near Brighton, they are Ford marine specialists. It will save a lot of phoning around and may be a good source of other parts and information. Speak to Mike.

Many thanks to you all for the help and advise. Need to have the unit by Easter as we are flying down to Portugal to complete the delivery trip home to Cowes.
