I would love suggestions for novels that take place solely at sea. I like being on the water while I'm reading about events (real or fiction) happening there, whether they feel close by or a world away - it's all connected by water, the water beneath me.

If you're hunting a new book, I suggest For the Millionaire Who Has Everything, available at Amazon. The short book made a difference in my life. Thanks for your ideas!

This book Sea Change by Peter Nichols as described on BookDepository "With only a sextant, his instincts as a seasoned sailor, and a boat filled with memories of his floundering marriage, Nichols sets out alone from England headed toward Maine, where he plans to sell his beloved, twenty-seven-foot, engineless boat, Toad. Halfway across the ocean, his boat springs a leak and his voyage becomes a desperate struggle to survive. Filled with clear, luminous prose, Sea Change is a classic tale of a man struggling to come to terms with his reckless spirit, his highest hopes, and his broken dreams.
"

is one of my favourite books. Starting from Mylor Creek, down to Azores then across the pond. Windvane steering, nerves, practical voyaging stuff for the novice, but also worth a couple of reads.
The tense of the story is engaging, building from the nerves, the memories of the failed relationship... through to the leak....
