Need advice - Kennet & Avon

I've never been on the K&A and I am going to be chartering a boat with a disabled group later in the year. We'll be starting at Gt Bedwin and will have the boat midday Sat to midday Tue. Question 1 - go left or right? Question 2 - suitable mooring places (bearing in mind the clients can't walk at all far so 'there's a nice pub half a mile from...' is no good.

If we go East, are the waterside bits of Hungerford and Newbury places to avoid for overnight stops?

Difficult to say as mooring can be difficult anywhere. Can I suggest you repeat the question on www.canalworld.net forum.
I cant think of anywhere to avoid for overnight mooring although I have been warned off the mooring area above Newbury at weekends due to noise. Help with planning on www.canalplan.org.uk .
If nothing of any help there I would try The kennet and avon canal trust as they have taken trips on the K&A.
