My yacht is registered in Mayotte, French Comores, which is convenient, as I sail in the Indian Ocean. But on 1.1.2014 Mayotte has been changed from an overseas territory to a plain French Departement and is now 100% under EU law. A yacht may be registered in the France only by a EU citizen living in France. I am Swiss and thanks to my heroic compatriots not a member of the EU. So I have to give back my French flag and need a new one. The Swiss one is expensive and complicated too get for my 20 year old aluminum sloop. Any better idea? Thanks!
