What am I going to do from 8-11.30 ET every morning now that the live coverage of the Tour is over? What a fabulous race; I'm quite exhausted/forums/images/icons/smile.gif!

Good idea, 'cos it's too hot to ride a bike outside. Had 2 months in UK where I didn't ride, then came back at beginning of TdF which was live each morning, so I haven't been out in the cool part of the day. Now to replace genset battery and wash boat to lose a few pounds/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

So Lance has done it again. Nearly as boring as watching Schumacher win the Grand Prix but I know which one I would vote as athlete of the year. No-one can even get close to him.

So has the bike not been out at all yet? Rather than mend that generator you should link your bike to an alternator and pedal whilst helming, at least the breeze will keep you cool.

I hope so, too. Unfortunately the only Brit who was supposed to ride in the Tour, Millar, was disqualified right before the start for admitting to taking EPO - and he was the world time trial champion!

Boring?Boring? How dare you, sir! Well, I know some things more boring than F-1, but not by much, namely American football, baseball and basketball/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Anyway, genset batt replaced, boat washed ( I lost 3lb in the process) and we've just come back from a sunset cruise on the Gulf which was cut a little short by some very black clouds and lightning moving quickly from the mainland.

On our first trip out since coming back from the UK, the boat would hardly move because of terrible barnacle incrustation on the props. The hull had been painted just before we came to the UK, but I told them not to do the props because the paint comes off in no time. Normally, we get very few barnacles and a lot of "worm coral" which comes off very easily and I do it myself, but this time, I couldn't move them. Fortunately when we got back into our mooring there was a diver just finishing the boat opposite and he did my props for $40. Now she flies like new. There, isn't that boring!!

Hi

The Tour what a race as for Lance what a bike rider we are seeing history in the making. Especially when you consider his past he should be an inspiration to us

Arthur,

Even a dedicated pedalomitrist (new word) like yourself cannot claim that there was not the odd yawn inducing moment in 83.5 hrs of 'racing'. At least the total F1 racing season lasts much less than this.

Pleased to hear that the boat is now performing well and sunset cruises are back on the agenda. I have a similar problem with barnacle encrustation and performance of boat has fallen off dramatically. Went to the boat scrubber facility at the weekend but this did not help. Will be taking the boat out one evening this week for a complete de-barbancle and will report findings in the next few days.

Jon,
Agreed re Tour/F-1 boring bits.

Just going out for a 20 mi spin which I'll do at about 16mph; the same speed as the Tour went up mountains!!

Wear some protective gloves when to do your debarnacling.
