Navtext - Any good in Caribbean?

Hello all

To follow up on the Navtext post below, is there a Navtext service in the Caribbean? I know (or think I know) that the new Weather service in europe is not available there...?

Was planning on installing on my boat this season.

According to my Admiralty List of Radio Signals. Navtex can be found at Curacao, Puerto Rico, and Miami. As we didn't have Navtex, don't know what the service is like.

I tended to use the Weather Nets and Fax for information. If close to the French islands they put out regular reports on VHF.

Most entertaining weather forecast is Lord Jim on English Harbour Radio at 08:00 on CH6. Need to be in Antigua though.

Radio weather forecasts are the same all the time in the Caribbean regardless of the actual weather. The only acception is the hurricane data.
