Hallo
Can you please give me advice in this particular problem
I have NASA navtex PC engine (This version --
http://www.yachtbits.fsnet.co.uk/navtex/navtex-engine.htm )
witch at present is connected to my navigation laptop, but I want to connect this engine to Nasa navtex pro display. Is it possible, and it will work ? I wondering if Navtex engine antenna unit is anything more then just hot antenna receiving in 518 khz
Thank You
Paul

I can't help except to say that NASA are usually very helpful when you contact them, and they will know exactly what will work and what will not.

This depends on what components of the total system of the Navtex pro are in is display unit and which ones in its antenna module.

If the Navtex Pro has its MF receiver and sitor decoder in the antenna just as the engine seems to then it may work however of the Navtex pro has its MF receiver and decoder in the display unit then it will only be looking for an rf signal from the antenna and not a decoded data signal.

Possibly reading instruction manuals would help however as the other poster suggested you would find out much quicker with a phone call to the makers.

What you have there is a complete navtex receiver with an RS232 output. This cannot be used as an antenna for a navtex receiver.
