Can anybody advise me of the stations to enter into my Navtex to receive weather etc for the Channel / Brittany coast. I've entered Niton and can recieve the inshore waters on the National network however, I understand that the International Channel has changed its letter and hence I cannot receive any signal.
I would be grateful for any advice
Many thanks in anticipation

Les,
I believe that Niton is now E for the English Channel in general, with K for the French side. The French Corsen station is A.

If you look on this site <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.franksingleton.clara.net/navtex_2.html>http://www.franksingleton.clara.net/navtex_2.html</A> it will give you all the information you want - and more.

Depends what set you have but it sounds as though you may have it on the incorrect frequency. If you have a set that receives both National and International frequencies without changing something in the menu, ignore this.

Have you tried recieving in different locations? I have just installed a Nasa navtext which worked perfectly on the Solent area. I have now moved to Mayflower marina in Plymouth and find that whilst in the marina I cannot get anything, no weather no navigation warnings or anything, on the international frequence but I do get the national broadcast with quite a few errors. If I sail out of the marina for half a mile I get perfect reception on international and national frequencies. You might just be in a similar dead area.

We had the same problem when Niton changed its code letter. The solution was to find another station of that letter, which happened to be Nav Area VI Station Mar de Plata code letter E.

Don't know if it would be the same on all sets, ours is a Nasa Video model, about 10 years old.

Regards,
Mica
