Navtex Furono NX300

Have a Furono Navtex NX300 one year old. working well until a week ago. Screen started to fade but still legible. Now not receiving daily messages at all.None.
Checked every aspect in manual-restarted-back to default-auto or manual on stations -reset mesdsage options-no different. Aerial seems intact.connections secure.
The only odd aspect besides no messages is if I switch the receive message beep on it gives a continuous beep as if trying to send but not getting thru.
Any clues?

thks battery ok. also only one year old. Furuno dealer says these problems are difficult/impossible to solve-says the problem is most likely at the Navtex supply end.
