I have inherited a Navtex Target Plus (I think that's what it's called, I don't have it handy!) which came with 2 aerials, one marked just Nasa Navtex, the other the same but with 490kHz 518 on the base. Which one should I mount on the boat?
The 518 490 KHz figures refer to the frequency of the transmissions. One for international broadcasts, the other for national broadcasts. if your unit is capable of recieving both broadcasts you will need the dual freq. antenna.
