I have a Navman Tracker 900 chart plotter which I am currently using with a C-MAP NT local cartridge. I would like to have my cartridge upgraded to NT+ Wide format but have been warned that my chart plotter may not have sufficient capacity to operate effectively with the extra data on wide format cartridges.

Can any other Navman Tracker 900 users reassure me on this before I part with my hard earned to upgrade?

PS - Tried Navimo (UK agent for Navman) but, so far, no response.

somebody has been pulling your leg. The plotter has sufficient capability to display whatever is selected. The chart data is dependent on size of ctg and is not uploaded to the plotter except for whatever is actually displayed plus a bit. Therefore no problems.

I assume that you mean NT+ ctg

There are three C Map standards, NT, NT+, and NT(Max)

Wide is now the largest ctg for the NT+ , there used to be a larger one(superwide) but that was dropped when C Map decided that there had to be a bit more spare space on the ctg for any corrections.

If you had been down in the solent you could have tried mine.

BTW you should be able to upgrade your existing ctg to a wide - if not from your normal stockist, then difinitely through C-Map.
