I have the Navman 5500i plotter which uses c-map cartography. I would like to purchase a new card covering a wider area but am unsure whether it uses c-map NT+, c-map Max or is it just c-map? Can anyone help? I'm sure the answer is in the manual but thats 187 miles away on the barky.

I agree with Neal.

The 550 5 accepted cmap NT+ and MAX

You could check out the navman site to be sure

I've got one myself and believe it is NT+, too old for Max.

This site Marine megastore would seem to agree.

Darren.

Although I had another make of plotter C-Map did an upgrade which alloed me to heve either NT+ or Max - this they provided on a card which just slotted into he plotter and upgraded the software - and all this for free - might be worth giving them a call

Thanks Guys - I looked at the User Guides DAKA posted and it says this in the specification

"GPS NAVIGATION
Chart card: C-MAP™ NT-MAX, NT+ or NT
User card: 3.3 V C-MAP™"

and this in the introduction

"1-3 Plug-in cards
The TRACKER can use two kinds of plug-in card:
C-MAP™ chart cards have chart details required for navigating in a particular region. When a chart card is plugged in, the extra details automatically appear on the TRACKER chart display.
The TRACKER can use NT, NT+ and NT-MAX cards.

C-MAP™ user cards are used to store navigation data. Each user card expands the TRACKER memory and allows the data to be transferred to another TRACKER easily (see section 14).
Note: The older 5 volt user cards are not supported."

So if NT-MAX is the same as C-map max then I can use them. anyone know if this is the same thing?

Ooops DAKA sent me a PM - I was looking at the 5505 not the 5500i

The 5500i accepts

"Chart and user cards
C-MAP™ NT cards and NT+ cards.
3.3 V C-MAP™ user cards."

So no Max for me.

Thankyou
