Navman Depth Sounder with an \' In hull transducer\'

I intend to buy a Navman 3100 depth sounder but want to fit an 'in hull transducer' but can not see that Navman do one.
Any recomendations from anyone else that has fitted one will be appreciated
Or what experiance has anyone had with the NASA sounder with a NASA 'in hull transducer '!
Boat is a Colvic Watson motorsailor

In hull transducers, work very well in non sandwich hulls, which I do believe the colvics are not built with, so you should be fine. Lots of stuff in archive on here reference "in hull transducers"
.

I have a Navman 3100 and the standard thru hull transducer can be fitted either thru hull or secured to the inside of the hull. I used polysulfide sealant, after selecting a location by testing with the transducer in a plastic bag of water. Others use epoxy or set into an oil bath.

I found that although we had great results on hardish bottoms, the very soft mud of the east coast has defeated it (going through a 2" thick westerly hull) so at some point we're going to have to go thru hull after all.

I had to try several points on my Westerly GK24, using sealant before finding a location for the through hull transducer which is actually a Garmin transom mount fitting for a fishfinder. Just forward of the keel was way too thick. Placing the transducer under the engine gives readings to 180 feet off Yarmouth IOW. Then built a dam with silicone sealant, poured in epoxy resin and floated the transducer on it. O

I had to replace my old Stowe last year. The Stowe failed whilst on summer cruise. I opted for Navman 3100. The guy who sold me the Navman gave me jelly etc. and said it would work through the hull. No chance on a 1970 heavily laid up GRP boat. Tried everywhere, lots of clicking but no reading. Gave up in the end and dangled over the side. Have since fitted correctly and it works perfectly.
