Navman 7200 VHF Help

I brought a boat fitted with a navman VHF 7200 and no instructions. Having previously used a fixed set thought no problem its self explanatory

Switch unit on in on channel 16 good reception but then the unit makes a ringing sound with no explanation?

Question is there any where I can download some instruction (using boat this weekend)
And what is the ringing.

the ringing is cause you have not connected GPS

press info to stop - or connect gps

no probs - the reason I know is because I asked the forum the same question

The bad thing is that it will keep ringing at regular intervals. It is a right PITA. Solutions are:
1) get a GPS hooked up the unit (good)
2) set up the instrument in "demo" mode or summat like that: you can give it a fake position chosen arbitrarily. This is NOT SO GOOD because if you do then send a distress signal automatically, I believe it might tell the CG you are actually at the artificially set position rather than where ever you really are. Creating confusion at the worse possible moment.
