I have been a Garmin man for years now but with the new boat I have decided to try out Lowrance because Lowrance do an engine data interface to my Suzuki engine while Garnin do not.

So, I now have to decide which electronic charts to get for the Lowrance and I have come doen to the Navionics XL9 chart for the UK.

Is this chart any good or is there a better option for the Lowrance LMS-332?

Well... in the absense of any responses I went ahead and purchased the 28G XL9 charts and I am HUGELY disappointed!

The depth soundings, well, all the text really, is far too small for quick reading, they only zoom in to 1/8 mile and when I did then I kept loosing 1/2 of the map.

I am going to see Navionics tomorrow but I think I will be handing them back.

I hope that the NauticPath ones from Lowrance are better. I am use to Garmin and they are SO much better and clearer especially for fast boat use.

More on this story later...
