Navionics tidal vectors.

I remember a YBW thread where we many complained about inaccurate tidal diamond data encoded in navionic charts.

Well I just got off the phone with the UK Navionics agent who said there had been a rework of tidal data in the English Channel area we were discussing. The rework took place at the tail end of 2008 so you'll need a 2009 update to benefit.

When we find a bug in our software or a customer notifies us of an issue, we fix it and issue new software for free - it doesn't work the way it said it should. I bet you have to buy an upgrade from Navionics

I agree but do not have the time to initiate a claim based on consumer law and I also feel the magazines have failed their readership in not picking up this cause.

In my case I need to trade in an all British Isles chip used for an Ireland trip last year for the giant electronic chart that covers the Channel down to Spain and beyond. Not bad for £130ish with the £40 trade in.
