Hi,
I’ve just taken delivery of a new(to me) boat. It’s fitted with a Raymarine A95 MFD. I found a box full of manuals and spare bits and it included the Navionics+ SD card and memory stick in its original packaging.
Is it possible to re-register it in my name? Do I need to pay an annual subscription to use the charts or is that just for updates. I do most of my boating inland but will do the occasional trip to sea.
I was out on the boat today and I tried the plotter and it was giving pretty poor info. I know the area is well covered by Navionics as I had it on my iPad before.
Any help appreciated.

The annual fee is to update the charts - after it has expired you can continue to use the charts - without updates, of course. Navionics+ includes a fair amount of detail - are you sure that the card in the plotter covers the area that you are sailing in? Navionics sell a range of coverage areas ranging from small to the entire UK and Channel coast of France and Belgium - if the boat was originally moored some distance from where it is now, it's possible that the charts don't extend to your location and you are just seeing the basic worldwide map - which is pretty light on detail.

Your chart cost includes a year of updates.

I just updated mine and the sub is now expired.

I am in the med and not much changes and I don’t recall ever seeing any bouys etc other than when entering port but in tidal areas a more regulate update might be a good idea

Thanks for the info. I did a bit more searching online and it appears that I need to log into the Navionics website and select the areas that I want to add to my plotter. I think the card covers UK, Ireland and Holland.
