I have been waiting for Navionics to add my Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 GT N 8010 to there compatibility list and to date hasn't happened . I am using android v 4.1.2

Just the last week or so the HD UK and Holland app for android tablets has reduced from £48 to £38 so I decided to give it a try .

Thankfully it appears to work and after a weekend away using it, I can say I am happy with my purchase .

I have been trawling forums in the last Six months for a report on compatibility with the Samsung note 10.1 with no success , So hopefully this will help others make a decision .

The only additions I would like to see on the app are ...

1 . Have heading displayed alongside the existing speed display

2. Modify route positions

3 . Display a chart Issue date

Happy Sailing

how did you manage to get it loaded? google play wont let me load up anything that navionics and google havent checked out.

I just used the Play Store on my android tablet, installed just like any other app. All the navionics apps appeared after searching 'navionics'. Good luck.

Navionics

In which case its approved for your machine. The navionics compatibility thingy has been saying " Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000" for some time

Navionics removed all the device restrictions a couple of weeks ago.
They basically said try it and see...

PS The 'phone' version works very well on my Lenovo A1 And My sons Galaxy tab 2 7"...

I have just downloaded the Navionics package to my Nexus 7 Android 4.2.2. It has not been available for the Nexus 7 from when the Nexus 7 was first introduced until very recently.

It downloaded from the Google store without almost any problems. (The debit card number Google had for me was out of date) about £38.

It has only very recently become available and is called 'UK and Holland HD'. Seems better than the one I have on my smartphone.

I have used it at sea and it seems fine. Certainly better than a laptop/netbook with a GPS dongle.

Interestingly enough, it appears in the Play Store here in Germany -however the version available is only Europe, not the UK and Europe, for GBP 37.99. I'm presuming that Play Store is location dependant -but it's a PITA!

There's a UK & Holland App and an Europe App - if you're seeing prices in Sterling then you're a UK user I would think.

You're right or at least half right. The Navionics compatibility pdf thingy on their web site still says that the app is only compatible with a very few android tablets excluding my nexus 10. But Googly play now says it is compatible with my nexus 10 unlike what they were saying a week or two ago. Its a mess! Who is right, Google or Navionics?

Google Play compatibility and market (region) settings are controlled by Navionics - I think they've finally accepted that a properly written app will work on just about any Android device and have removed the inappropriate restrictions but are covering their bets by saying it "compatible" - i.e. warranted and supported - on these devices. I've got HD and non-HD running on an Asus Android 4.0x tablet, a Samsung 4.1x tablet, a Nexus 7" at 4.2.2 and a Galaxy S3 at 4.1x. None have any problems.
