Totally spamming here and sorry but 2nd hand Navionics CF cards seem to be rare as rocking horse s**t.

Anyone happen to have Norway (XL9 49XG) in Compact Flash? £170 new seems crazy.

Thanks in advance!

Well, I have one and would be glad to lend / give it away. However we're in Martinique...

However and it's a big however, Navionics cartography DOES NOT WORK at further north than 75 degrees. Thus Bear Island is just visible but none of Svalbard. I looked at the card at the LIBS on the Navionics PC display together with a rep from Navionics, and then we went to the Raymarine stand and tried it in a Raymarine plotter: it too couldn't display any of the data for Svalbard despite Navionics claimig it was there. The two reps took to blaming each other, both promised to resolve it and get back to me, neither did.

So for Norway, or at least Svalbard, you're much better buying charts and PC plotter from Euronav (SeaPro Lite + was what I bought) who'se support was excellent and the charts astoundingly accurate.

That's ok... I don't leave till late March? Can I pay for it and postage? I'm not going as far as Svarlbard and imagine Lofoten will be fine.

I am planning on Norway this year; been looking for a CF card for the last few months. Local charts are about £50 a pop, and even the Båtsportkart chart packs (Norwegians close (but not very close) equivalent of Imary are expensive. I don't really navigating on a chart plotter without a paper backup, but I may have to bite the bullet.

When and where are you departing from? We're going from Liverpool end of March in the hope to reach Lofoten for some skiing in April / May.

Bit later than you, planning on departing Lerwick for Florø early June. Not sure if I will get as far as the Loftotens, but I would be like to be at the Arctic circle to get the midnight sun in late June. Returning end of July/early August. All tbc, as getting crew organised with varying availability and competence is bit like a complicated jigsaw where the shapes of the pieces are constantly changing.
