I am using a Navionics Gold card in a Raymarine touchscreen plotter. Yesterday, between Leros and Kalimnos, the detailed chart data disappeared and the plotter reverted to the worldwide (no detail) screen. No attempt to resurrect the detail succeeded. The obvious answer is that the SD card has developed a fault but has anyone else experienced this problem and is there any other possible answer? Also, is there any risk attached to attempting to upgrade the same card online? Navionics are being very slow to give us answers. Stewart.

I had exactly the same with a Raymarine dragonfly, it's a well known problem on those units. Hopefully yours is different.
You could plug the card into a pc and see if it can at least list the files, that should show if it's the card or the plotter.

I seem to recall that connecting to a PC though a normal card reader can render some older chart cards permanently unusable, unless done though a specific Navionics branded card reader. Something to do with the copyright protection on the charts and software.

I've just had a similar problem with a Raymarine C70 that has stopped reading card data on a CF card - just base map displayed, though the card itself reads OK in other plotters. I am told it's a possibly non-repairable fault on the plotter itself. Looking up what current plotter I could replace a C70 linked to ST60+s with uncovers multiple worms in cans.

Thanks for all the replies. We did carefully clean the terminals, with no success. We have also now established it is not the card at fault but the Raymarine plotter (by trying card in another plotter). Not looking good! Will visit Raymarine agent in Marmaris. Thanks again.

Had a similar problem about six months ago. It happened after doing a freshest data update. You could delete the contents of the card and try reinstalling from the navionics website but if you do, DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER CALLED N TAG as this is the identifier file
I think the problem starts once the card reaches it max capacity due to updating.
