No - but I'd like to know to...!! By the way - these guys seem to sell them cheapest..

I have a small/old Bombard at the moment, need something bigger (damn kids keep growing), boat is only 20 yards from the shore so easy row, and they *seem* like they'd be ok for the job.... any of the 'quality' inflatables are 3 times the price and the seem like a good alternative - looking forward to further replies, and if you buy one let me know what you think! ;)

Seems to cheap to be good does'nt it? although this guy http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI...userid=howe4393&ftab=AllFeedback&myworld=true judging by what he's bought on ebay he's obviously boaty and has left good feed back!

I need a tender on the quick! Has anyone here bought one of these yet? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NAVIGATOR-3-I...s_ET?hash=item2ea6a488c1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 If so are they any good?

Yes I have one. Not that bad. I use it when I am on my own as it is much lighter than my Avon. I have used it three or four times.

Quite narrow, will almost plane with a 2.5 two stroke. The seats are not held on place so you have to watch them. General construction ok. Pump is good. Oars are just adequate.

Inflatable floor and inflatable V at front.

Quite happy with it. But it is too long to fit on my deck so am thinking about selling it and getting a much shorter one that I can carry inflated on the foredeck. (£100 + carrage)

Cheers

Please tell me, is the material used the same or similar to say something like an avon?

No. the Avon uses a much better material than most other tenders. It is called hypalon most other tenders are made from PVC.

Hypalon cannot be welded it can only be glued together. It is much more resistant to sun and more flexable at lower temperatures. But it is much more expensive.

PVC can be welded or glued. The Navigator 111 has welded seams and is extremely light.
I would not expect it to last as long as my ten year old Avon.

The only problem I have with it is that it is too long for me both on the foredeck and to fit in the storage racks at the sailing club. Hence I am thinking of changing it.

Thanks for the info Iain, I think I'm going to settle for something more upmarket. I suppose its a case you only get what you pay for!

Dave

Yes that's right Dave.

I can't complain as the Navigator cost me £100 in ASDA in Aberdeen some time ago and it is quite handy when I am on my own.

But, I was very happy we had the Avon yesterday to come ashore in when it was blowing 26 Knots.

Cheers
Iain
