This 'facility' was constructed and opened with some fanfare last year. Having inspected it, and indeed helped dredge it (two shoes full of mud and gravel removed and discharged offshore). I can report that it small (approx size of a decent tennis court), has no pontoons, just a few mooring buoys, and is only approx waist deep at low water neaps. It's a good place to land by dinghy if you've anchored off (coz the beach has got some drying rocks at LW), but forget about parking anything much bigger than a 20 footer in it.

For a shore run, Ventor has quite a lot going for it. Crab and lobster shack. Pubs with live music, one at least with decent food and wine list. Monster amusement arcade for ankle-biters. Plently of tatoos on display. The sort of chandlery that is abfab if you want to accessorize a restaurant called Pirate Pete's Pizza Parlour.

"and is only approx waist deep at low water neaps."

Is that your waist or mine Ken? We're seriously considering Ventnor as out 1st x-channel launch pad, and with our keel up, we draw 0.8m (bout 2'8" in your money)
Whadda you reckon? worth a visit?
We're 28foot tho, are we gonna swamp the place?
