I'm looking to wire the old Navico engine hours counter back into my boat.

It's the old type: a small mechanical counter that originally had a few wires connecting it with the alternator on the engine.

But I haven't a clue which wire should go where or attach too what. (They were removed by a previous owner I guess)

Is anyone able to advise me what I should connect to what, or better still, email me a circuit diagram? I'd estimate the counter to be approx. late 80s/early 90s in vintage.

Many thanks in advance

normally there will be two wires. a negative (Black -) which connects to neg supply and the positive (red +) goes to the ignition switch (live when ign on)
