With Halloween just around the corner we were discussing nautical superstitions last night - all the usual ones came up
don't mention bunnies on board, colour green is unlucky, don't set sail on a Friday (or launch a boat). The latter must make weekend cruising quite difficult.

There was a new one on us though - don't throw egg shells overboard as they make little boats for witches to follow you in!

Does anyone have any good nautical superstitions to add to our list?

dont sail on Friday 13th

Dont sail with a vicar/priest onboard

Whistling for the wind will either fail completely or achieve far too much.

Weather forecasts are always wrong

Oh Yes...
Beware the woman on board that [--word removed--] over the side, shows here breasts to the waves, thinks friday is a good day to sail, reads beatrix potter and wears green..... she may also throw eggs..
damn the bitches, they should stay chained to the sink and never set foot in a boat, damn, damn, damn them... lol
Women only get married in white so they blend in with the kitchen apliences,,,,, also,
You have to ask yourself ?? whay did the woman cross the road ???... answer is, who the f&%k knows ??? what the hell was she doing released from the sink...

Blah Blah..... etc.... Boats are purely male.... the ones with deficient brain makeup dont mix.....

Nuff said.....

Yes dear ???... toast would be fine.......
