Nautech were the original makers of the "Autohelm" autopilots.

If pvb's link does not provide what you want shout again as there was an earlier model, with a rotating dial to set the course and a rotary function switch, for which I have the instructions.

Greetings from Ontario in Canada. I have one of the older Autohelms that you describe. It has worked reliably for years but this year on launch it is not working. There is power to it. So the manual would be very helpful, along with any experience you have in repairs. Also, do you know what type of bit is required to remove the screws. Where I am, I have never seen that type of screw. Many thanks.

The operating manual for the one I have is available on Raymarine's website at Box

Sorry I have no other info other than this link to an old forum thread which used to show the feed back string arrangement inside, Unfortunately the pictures were stored on Photobucket and most are NLA

To open the case you need to lever off the compass disc or make a hole in the centre to access the retaining screw. (Mark the position of N first).
The switch is a collet knob so you lever out the centre plug and use needle nose pliers to unscrew the collar.
The screws in the base should be plain slotted screws.
I can probably dig out some information on the string routing if that is the problem.
The only problem I have had is the power transistors have a tall brass heatsink and while motoring this must have resonated and fractured the solder joint. I replaced the heatsinks with lower profile aluminium plates.
If you need more information ask and I will try to find some photos and a circuit.
