Just received an email from the RYA that had a link to this site. It would seem that sewage discharge is being taken a bit more seriously. Also shows discharge points 'off line' or under maintenance which is quite a few in the midlands and northwards. Map doesn't include Wales, NI or Scotland so why is it called UK ! unless to follow.

Interesting thanks.

Re the “why is it called UK” point, the site you linked to says clearly National Storm Overflow Hub for England
Doesn’t claim to be UK wide.
Don’t know about Wales & NI but Scotland has water services from Scottish Water. I know they are tracking similar info, and seen a presentation on this, but don’t have a web link to hand.

If you look at the map it's frightening how many of these over flows are pumping away. even if its not pumping that still doesn't mean its safe to swim as the turds continue to stay within the confines of a harbour for many tidal cycles.

As is usual the nearest to my sailing club is shown..
Every time the river floods the land, it flows into the sewers that need pumping out again.
