Chatting to a guy at the beach this afternoon when I walked Tigger and he said that a large black and yellow steel buoy with a bell in it had been washed up at Nash point - he said he thought it was from Nash sands.

Can't confirm, but bear it in mind.

It is the Fairy Rock Buoy from off Porthcawl. I was talking to a Trinity house guy a few days ago. They were hoping to tow it off to be repaired.Should think it would be well wrecked with the weather we have been having,

I was just checking the chart, I was pretty sure I could see the East Nash, so I knew it wasn't that one. Cheers, Graham.

Actually, the old fella also told me that the beach at Monknash used to have a lime kiln, and when I asked him if boats used to come in there, he said he thought you could see remains of an old breakwater at low tide, so it could be one of the 'Lost ports' that Barebones has reported missing.
