Having spent the last year or so sitting back and reading the threads of 'terrible piece of kit'; '4 sets of cups in 6 months' etc I was feeling a little smug that my unit seemed ok.
Low and behold the gods must have been watching me take some comfort in the misfortune of others as last weekend I arrived on the boat to find my cups gone from the mast unit /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
The previous owner, obviously an experience Nasa owner, had left a spare set of cups in the chart table. Needless to say on inspection with the binoculars it appears the spindle has gone too!
To be fair - I have just rung Nasa and they have sent me a new spindle free of charge (he sounded shocked my cups had gone - presume this is his marketing ploy!).
Now - before my next trip up the mast I need to arm myself with some quick setting epoxy to fit the spindle back in place ... any suggestions?
Thanks
Jonny
