Nasa Target Echo Sounder

My Target sounder is flashing erratic depth readings up and down all over the place, could this be a failing transducer, electrical noise or something else???? I also seem to have an E constantly on the display does this mean error?

Don't know the beast but most likely and error - RTFM if possible

else ? undo/pull all the leads off clean them up and replace.

if no good, you'll have to borrow another sender and/or head unit to see
which is useless.

This question got loads of replies on the PBO site, the problem is bubbles in the oil bath under transducer.
