Had one on last boat. Loved it. Realllly bright. Two things to know:
1: Switching is awkward - you need to fit a dedicated DPDT or DPCO switch which is a shame if you have nice switches on an existing panel. I built a relay box to get around it.
2: There is no alignment arrow - the yard that put mine on put it on at an angle and had to fix it
I have one but I haven't used it in anger. As Yachtallsa says, it is very bright. Mine was installed by a marine electrician and he fitted the two way switch. Up is for the tricolour, centred is off and down is for the anchor light. There are only two wires to it hence the switch - I believe it works by reversing the polarity. It does mean that one switch is centred for off whereas all the others are up for off but as long as I remember not to flick them all up to turn everything off, it's not a problem.
I bought a similar design off ebay a couple of years ago. Optolamp Mirim III - good RTW racing pedigree, and a variety of light and signalling (e.g. strobe) capabilities.
Price seems a bit higher that NASA though the spec is IMHO superior.
