Hi Folks,
I have a few questions about the above........

1) Can this unit recieve weatherfax images as well as Navtex?
2) Can it be connected to feed a C120 as well as PC (at the same time) and if so how.
3) Is it any good?

Looking at the Nasa AIS engine too, any thoughts there?

Christmas coming up........

Cheers,

Crispin.

1) No weatherfax, navtex only
2) Dunno for sure but would think unlikely
3) Works for me /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif means relying on a laptop onboard, though. Easy to scroll through messages and filter message type / station.
If you have a laptop onboard then it's easy to recieve weatherfax using a ssb reciever (such as nasa HF3) connected to the laptops' mic input an some software like jvcomm.

Hi Paddy,
Looks like it might be an option still.

I have an Eton E5 SSB receiver, problem is that my laptop has some line interferance issues, tried fitting a line isolator transformer but it didn't help, the wire ariel is also dodgy (haven't found a replacement anywhere yet) and well, I'd prefer not to have to remember to tune in at the correct time each day to recieve. I haven't had good results so far with it.

I'd like to use the laptop if possible, I know PC's can be temperamental but then all elecronics can and lets face it a cheapo laptop is not about the same price as one standalone instrument.
Does anyone manufacture a unit similar to the navtex pro but that receives weatherfax?
