Having decided to fit a NASA Supernova masthead tricolour, I thought to ask those nice chasps at NASA how on earth one might mount their Meteoman masthead unit without significant masking of the radiated light.

Their reply was, to put it gently, about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Me - "....Now, what about the supplied mounting for the Meteoman masthead unit. Can this be bent/straightened out in part/mucked about with, and if so, in what ways? I'm keen that the larger part of the unit does not obscure a large sector of the Supernova's light pattern, so would seek to position it above or below the main plane of light radiation.....i.e. > 25° from horizontal...."

Them - "Not really no, maybe a little bend in the tube...."

So, any good ideas from the assembled academicians on 'ere? :encouragement:

It's going to depend on your masthead and what else is there. I have a Raymarine whirly-thing mounted on its forward-projecting stalk, and a piece of aluminium plate that's been added to the angled mast top to let the tricolour stand level. The light ends up higher than the wind sensor, so no problem.
