Earlier this month, I posted a note re problems with my NASA Clipper Navtex.

Following advice and then communication with NASA themselves, I packaged the unit back to NASA on Monday midday. By Tuesday afternoon, they had diagnosed the fault [blown diode] and sent me an email. Today [Wednesday] the repaired item was dispatched back to me by parcel courier, the repair and P&P charges being very reasonable.

I highly recommend the speedy and very courteous service from this company. It is very pleasant to deal with a company who care so much about their service and customer relations.

No link with NASA other than the ownership of a NASA Navtex!

I second that.

Had a problem with an early AIS engine. I returned the unit to them, the fault was diagnosed, the unit repaired and returned within a week.

And third it.

Our Clipper duet exploded (due to a voltage surge). It was back with us within 72 hours of posting, fully repaired all for £35. Fantastic - and so helpful on the phone.

I agree, one of the few companies that actully repair at component level rather than swapping boards and charging accordingly.

Always very quick turn around to.

I agree - we recently had a problem with our Navtex PC Pro and they sent us replacement software foc.

Me too. My Duet was fixed in a few days for £15.

I had to sue to get recompense for the lousy Simrad tiller pilot whose failure caused the surge which blew the Duet.

Seriously impressed with the NASA service. It would be good if they made tiller pilots. At least if they blew up when it rained we could get them fixed quickly and cheaply.

Over the years I have always had outstanding service from NASA.

Even when I was updating one instrument to a clipper they supplied the instrument head without the transducer.

What is also great is the abilty of being able to talk to a real engineer who understands the instruments inside out even being able to quote lead colours without seference to a text book.

As has been said by many repairs are very quich and cost effective.

Brilliant: E mail queries answered fast, phone picked up on second ring, answered by someone who knows, spares chesp, dispatched quickly. Maybe not always the most sophisticated instruments, but very clever & well engineered, compared with *****! and ******. Should win awards!!

Excellent service for me to, I phoned Thursday and then popped in last Friday lunchtime and they tested my elderly Target Navtex Pro for me whilst I waited. No fuss and no charge, although I probably interrupted their lunch time. Not many companies would be that helpful.
