Anyone using these?
I have the the P version without the software.
Any pointers to recieving navtex via the PC also teh weather pictures...done a few searches in t'internet but half the stuff sounds double dutch!!!!
any help or pointers appreciated

regards

I have a NASA P and use JV Com.
JV com is very good and easy to use.
I have fitted the NASA active Aerial - reception varies from place to place. Sometimes I get a perfect fax with engine running & instruments switched on at other times/locations I have to turn some or all of these devices off. My aerial wire runs close to the seatalk and GPS areil which may expalin something.
It does take some practice to get a good fax so keep trying - My experience is that interference from other electrical items is the biggest cause of duff faxes

HIya
Got navtex working perfect using SeaTTY software...nuffin using JVComm or Weatherfax 2000

weather fax next...

How do you find out which frequencies and schedules...got one from JVCom but seems to be all american stuff..

gotta be something better to do ..even on a tuesday night :-)

Worldwide list of stations here. Northwood in the UK is the nearest station. It is best to monitor the frequency until they transmit the schedule. Reception on these stations varies throughout the day - you will need to experiment.

What is better, SeaTTY or JVComm?
I have had some perfectly satisfactory results with SeaTTY and my HF3/P but am open to new ideas.
