I installed a NASA DSC radio last year, and it has given no trouble until recently...

Now, it seems to function OK on some channels, but not on others, and the problem also seems to be that the receiver quits only after transmitting - so turning the box off and then on brings it back to life.

Other stations report that the transmissions are fine.

Of course, Ive checked the antenna connections and power, no problems there (the fact that the Txs are alright indicates it's not an antenna problem anyhow).

Anyone else had similar grief?

Meanime, I'll re-install the old box as a spare.

I wonder if you have a dodgy connection in the power cable. Using Tx pulls a high current from the battery, perhaps the connection breaks down then recovers itself after you switch off.

As I understand using TX shuts down RX so could be something in whatever switches that in the box - no idea of the mechanics/electronics of that though.

Sounds simplistic, but is your PTT button/mike broken in some way?

Jeff.
