When powered up, the display for my NASA Clipper Wind runs away to show an indicated 99 kts. irrespective of actual wind speed.
Shows a similar max reading in mph or m/sec.
Equipment is at least 15 years old .
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this fault and is it terminal ?

Hi Nondikass

I think my nasa clipper wind instrument has developed the same fault. Did you manage to resolve it with Nasa or is a new device needed?
Thanks
T

Mine did this.
Bad connections at the deck plug I think.
re-made the connections, now it says zero all the time.

Just an update on this. Last week I contacted Nasa Marine and they're sending me a new speed sensor and they've send instructions on how to install it in the masthead unit.
Fingers crossed this solves the issue
