I have just installed a NASA AIS (V2) engine on MD. It feeds through a USB/Serial adapter to a tablet PC running Seapro. This is also fed by a Garmin 152 GPS (also through a USB/Serial adapter). (I chose not to link the inputs from the 2 devices).

The problem is that, while the PC recognises both adapters, and Seapro recognises both ports, it is not "seeing" the AIS. The GPS works fine.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you solve it?

Have you set up the communication speed of the engine to the same speed as Seapro expects. I think my plotter expects a higher speed than 4800 from the AIS .

You need to set seapro up for AIS input, tick the box and also set the 38400 data speed as well.

Done a few of them and have done this every time. Works well when you get it right.

Did have to download the latest seapro version on one occassion as it was not 100% AIScompatible.
